ReplyDeleteHi Stephie,
ReplyDeleteIt appears that we are together again this summer semester:) I enjoyed reading your blog just as I enjoyed hearing your experiences from Dr. Martin's last course. Your blog is a beautiful page and I love the colors!! I am impressed that you have published children's books. I would love to chat with you about your experience as an author. One thing that I enjoy the most about being in the doctoral program is having the opportunity to meet and hear the experiences of others who I might not have otherwise. I have browsed some of your blogs and your page about your books. What an inspiration!! I look forward to learning with you and from you over the course of the summer.
I am so glad we were able to meet the other night. I am excited to see your published book one day :)
DeleteI too enjoy reading your post. I share your feelings about leading others in the area of Math especially since I haven't taught math since 1996. But together we will forge ahead.
ReplyDeleteStephie,
ReplyDeleteI like your post. Don't be scared of math. You mentioned that you were analytic which is a strong trait of a mathematician. You do math all the time and do not realize it because it just comes automatically. We all are problem solvers. I believe we will learn alot in this class.
Stephie,
ReplyDeleteI agree with your statement that "Leading others in the area of math...Makes me feel insecure". That is why I have kept a great math coach on my staff and now am in this course. While I am a proponent of relying on my coach as the expert, I feel that I have to develop my own understanding of best practices in math instruction. I look forward to working with you this semester.
